Hi there, I'm a web developer based in the Houston, Texas area, and I enjoy solving problems with software.
Joined the Analytics team at eBay to create internal analysis tools.
Worked on a wide range of client projects, from small brochure style websites to customized integrations between multiple web systems. Worked closely with clients and managed projects with other team members.
Gnome on the run is the professional frontend of personal web development freelancing since 2000. Built custom websites, consulted on large applications, and managed client projects.
JoomlaShack produces Joomla templates and extensions, and this position required the development of many resources for sale as well as supporting customers and managing projects.
Programming is the core of my interests and skills. Having developed with multiple languages, the core competency is in PHP. I love object oriented programming, and appreciate quality frameworks and tools. I refuse to work without source code management (Git preferred) and ideally projects should have a full build process setup (Jenkins, CI server) if they are large enough to benefit.
Over the years I've done more than programming, I've done pretty much everything from Flash interactions to designing to video produciton. Often freelancing required learning additional skills, and while I am not a specialist in many of them, I enjoy the challenge of learning new skills.
With a degree in TV/Radio broadcasting, video production is a core skill and interest of mine. I particularly enjoy the shooting and post-production elements when working in a team environment.
Studied TV/Radio broadcasting along with minors in Political Science, German, and graduated from the honors program called Christ College.
While at Valpo, I participated in a number of student groups or activities.
I invested in a Canon DSLR camera, and have found great joy in practicing photography. I particularly enjoy shooting in nature or while traveling.
A fun interest that others enjoy as well, I regularly brew various ales. Its a great hobby that others can enjoy, but the ability to craft and experiement to create specific types of beer is particularly exciting.
Serving through my church is a key part of my life. Finding ways to serve in the community is extremely rewarding and a powerful experience to share with others.
